Ash Skyline Plaza

Hustling and Bustling Holiday Action

Skyline

With Thanksgiving gone and Christmas preparations upon us, we’ve barely had time to look up from our desks, let alone look up at the Ash Skyline Plaza. But a lot has happened in the last few weeks – and a lot will continue to happen in the weeks ahead!

First of all, you may have noticed the Big Ash Crane (as we lovingly called the 220-foot-tall tower crane) is gone. It was removed in mid-November as exterior construction wraps up and things start to move indoors.

You also may have noticed crews have been testing the LED lighting on the parking garage. These lights can change colors for seasons and special events, and will be another great feature to enhance the building’s exterior. Tim Ash had a chance to snap a few pictures last week – check them out!

Our friends at Weigand Construction say there’s a lot more action happening on site in the coming weeks:

  • Right now, most of the work is centered around putting in mechanical systems
  • The streetscape is nearly completed on the north and south sides
  • Atrium glazing (adding the glass) will be starting the next few weeks
  • Signage design will be completed at the end of the month
  • The buck hoist (orange elevator on the east side) is coming down in January
  • Work on the Lake City Bank space will be wrapping up in January
  • Crews will start the access flooring (the cables for our desks are in the floor instead of the ceiling) on the eighth and ninth floors in January

Watch for progress here or on the OxBlue Construction Camera. Below are the latest photos from our staff photographer, Dean Oyer.
